About TBOWIT: TBOWIT is one of more than 30 chapters worldwide under the umbrella of OWIT, the Organization of Women in International Trade. Our mission is to promote international business and affairs in the Tampa Bay area and to provide a forum for networking, education, and scholarships, with a global focus and an emphasis on women. Our goal is to foster the development of future leaders in Tampa Bay and to be the driving force behind the recognition of women leaders in Tampa Bay’s international businesses community.
Purpose: The TBOWIT Internship Program is designed to support the next generation of women in international trade by providing meaningful, hands-on learning experiences, networking opportunities, and an introduction to career-building skills.
Compensation: $500 stipend
Timeline: 10-12 weeks (flexible, part-time) during Fall, Spring and Summer semesters
Hours: 10-15 hours per week
Structure: Interns work closely with a supervisor on a weekly basis and collaborate with TBOWIT board members at monthly board meetings. In addition to their tasks and responsibilities, interns will select at least three professional hosts to visit over the course of their internship for exposure to local international trade careers through on-site visits and mentorship.
