    Enterprise Florida
    Trade Mission to Argentina

    April 23 - 27, 2017

Recent changes in Argentina have generated much interest by US companies in exploring export opportunities to one of the more significant markets in South America.

With a population of 41.5 million people and a GDP of approximately $609 billion, Argentina offers excellent opportunities for Florida companies interested in increasing their footprint in the Southern Cone. The United States is Argentina’s third largest trading partner. U.S. goods and services trade with Argentina totaled an estimated $22.4 billion in 2015; making Argentina the U.S.’s 28th largest goods export market in 2015. Argentina is also Florida’s fourth largest export destination with an estimated $3.3 billion worth of exports in 2015.

The Argentine market poses promising opportunities for Florida companies due to the recent change in political leadership that has adopted a pro-business approach for the country. The newly elected President, Mauricio Macri, has already implemented several pieces of legislation that allow Argentine importers an easier process to buy foreign goods.

The industry sectors listed below provide the best opportunities for exports from the United States to Argentina. Given the recent easing of import restrictions, there are many promising prospects and interested companies should know that the list below is not exclusive. There are several other opportunities that may not be explicitly listed. If your industry is not mentioned below, please contact us for a no-obligation assessment. Leading sectors for Florida exports to Argentina include:

    • Medical Technology
    • Information and Communications Technology
    • Telecommunications Equipment
    • Transportation Infrastructure Equipment and Services
    • Electronic Security Equipment
    • Food Processing Equipment
    • Agricultural Machinery and Parts

Registration Now Open! Discover Global Markets- Building Smart Cities

The emergence of “Smart Cities” has rapidly captured the imagination of the mass market. But what does a smart city mean for construction and other firms?

Smart Cities is a term that defines the convergence of new government policies, emerging Information Communications Technology (ICT) and innovative design in an urban environment. The touch points of these three elements are creating meaningful, exciting and lucrative opportunities for the construction industry worldwide. It is no longer a case of whether smart cities will affect construction firms; it is a case of when, and whether the firms will be ready. For more about industry based global opportunities at our upcoming business forum simply visit Discover Global Markets: Building Smart Cities to register today!

The Discover Global Markets: Building Smart Cities conference will be held November 1-3 in Chicago, IL and will highlight export opportunities that exist for U.S. companies in smart city developments and projects around the world. Our program will be a mixture of pre-scheduled one-on-one counseling meetings with U.S. Commercial Diplomats visiting from 20 key markets around the world, along with plenary sessions and breakouts. The plenary sessions will focus on global smart city trends, cybersecurity, water and wastewater management, funding of smart city projects, as well as two major markets - India and China. Breakout sessions will be designed along the following tracks:

    1. Connecting - cities, people, and data are now more connected than ever before through physical infrastructure and high-speed internet networks. The Connecting track aims to capture opportunities being created by investments in high-speed internet technologies, transportation (roads, airports, urban transit), and energy and smart grid systems.
    2. Sales and marketing professionals responsible for acting quickly on market demands, foreign tenders, and trade leads
    3. Sustaining - smarter cities are becoming greener, more resilient, and better stewards of natural resources. The Sustaining track aims to capture opportunities being created by investments in greener technologies, green/LEED design and construction, and disaster mitigation and resilience planning/solutions, and emerging waste to energy opportunities.
